Elaborations of Carbon is where Yob started, a 2002 debut cut in Spokane with founder Mike Scheidt alongside Isamu Sato on bass and Gabe Morley on drums. The slow, heavy blueprint laid down here is the one the Oregon doom band kept building on for the next twenty years. Relapse Records reissues it as a 2LP, pressed on bone and grey galaxy vinyl.
