Love & Other Lies LP

Federale is Collin Hegna's Portland project, kept alongside his bass work in the Brian Jonestown Massacre since 2004. It plays like a score for a movie nobody shot, built on cinematic arrangements pulled from 1960s and '70s Italian film scores, with pedal steel, trumpet, and whistling standing in for strings. One critic called it "soundtrack music for films that don't exist yet." Love & Other Lies keeps that spaghetti-western pull going on Jealous Butcher Records, folding in a cover of Huey Lewis & the News' "I Want a New Drug" alongside the originals.
