New Jazz Conceptions LP

Bill Evans cut his debut as a leader in September 1956 at Reeves Sound Studios for Riverside Records, with Teddy Kotick on bass and Paul Motian on drums, years before Motian would join Evans's famous trio with Scott LaFaro. "New Jazz Conceptions" holds the first recorded version of "Waltz for Debby," played solo here alongside "I Got It Bad" and "My Romance." Critics liked it fine at the time, but initial sales were modest, and his next album as a leader followed more than two years after these sessions. This pressing comes on limited 180g blue vinyl.
