Dinosaur (later to be renamed Dinosaur Jr.) recorded their debut album in 1985 for $500 at a home studio in the woods outside Northampton, Massachusetts. On the strength of that album, they begin to play shows down south in NYC. There they met Sonic Youth
"Hashish", the first single from the album, is described by Moore as "an ode to the narcotic of love in our shared responsibility to each other during isolation."
Sonic Youth’s eponymous debut EP, reissued in a deluxe double- LP edition on the band’s own Goofin’ imprint, was recorded in late 1981 at Radio City Music Hall in NYC and originally released on composer Glenn Branca’s Neutral label.
If you love grunge/punk/indie or the like, you love this. Originally released on the venerable SST labels in the 1980's, this reissue stays true to form.
