Shipping & Returns Policy


Wax Trax calculates shipping costs and includes them in the invoice prior to any sale. 

An email with tracking information will be sent when your order is ready to ship. Please note that tracking information may not be available for items shipped from our distributor.

We do not provide a refund or replacement for items that have been scanned as delivered by USPS. The customer is responsible for the security of their delivery location. If your package tracks as delivered, but you have not received it, please inquire with your mail carrier or at your local post office branch.

Wax Trax will not open your purchase before shipping to ship it outside of its cover. If this is done at the customer's request without the knowledge of management, it forfeits any possible return for shipping damage or otherwise. 

Estimated delivery time for USPS Media Mail is 3-14 businesses days to US addresses. Estimated delivery time for USPS First Class mail is 3-7 business days to US addresses. 

Expedited delivery via USPS Priority Mail is available for an additional fee at checkout. We do not offer overnight shipping at this time.

Shipments returned to us by USPS due to incorrect/unclaimed/undeliverable address information will be charged a $5.00 fee for re-shipment.

All items are normally available for local pickup at our Denver store at 638 E. 13th Avenue. When possible, you will be able to indicate at check out that you’d like to pick up in store. 


Wax Trax currently does not ship internationally. If and when our store does ship internationally, the following rules will apply.

If international shipping is available on your item, an email with customs claim reference number will be sent when your order is ready to ship. Please note that tracking information may not be available for items shipped from our distributor. Parcels are shipped via USPS First Class International Mail and your national postal service. Estimated delivery time is 7-21 business days, but packages may be held by your local customs authority for an additional 10-14 days or more, depending on the customs laws in your country. Please inquire at your local customs office for further information on the location of your package after it has crossed the U.S. border.

Duty and Taxes: The recipient of any and all goods sold by Wax Trax is responsible for any and all Customs fees, including taxes, brokerage fees, and any other fees assessed at the border prior to delivery.


Returns for new items that are not defective 

We happily offer exchange or store credit for new merchandise that is returned provided that it is returned in unopened and unused condition, and otherwise AS NEW, with the original receipt and postmarked within 14 days of the original purchase date. We cannot offer cash refunds for this type of return, and we do not cover return shipping costs for this type of return, nor do we refund or exchange shipping costs for the original shipment. 

Upon receipt of the returned item, we will examine it and notify you via email, within a reasonable period of time, whether or not you are entitled to a return. To follow up on the return, please contact returns[at]waxtraxrecords[dot]com.

Refunds or exchanges do not include any shipping and handling charges shown on the packaging slip or invoice. Shipping charges for all returns must be prepaid and insured by you. You are responsible for any loss or damage to hardware during shipment. We do not guarantee that we will receive your returned item. Shipping and handling charges are not refundable. Any amounts refunded will not include the cost of shipping.

Returns for new items that are defective

New items that are significantly warped or skip are eligible to be exchanged for store credit provided they are returned in the condition they were purchased in within 14 days of the purchase date, and with the original receipt.

PLEASE NOTE: If you're record is skipping all over the place and there are no visible scratches or warps on your record, it is probably due to the weight balance of your tone arm. More affordable turntables like Crossley's, older Victrola, and even some Sony, Audio Technica and other brands that typically cost under $150 new OFTEN have this issue on newer music. So do higher end turntables that have not been properly adjusted. Please consult your record player's manual to balance your tone arm properly, or if a cheaper turntable, try scotch taping a dime or a penny on top of the shell.

ALL LPs HAVE MINOR "FLAWS." Pressing records is a craft, not a science. The process means that no two are exactly alike. Minor scuffs and slight warps that don't affect play are very normal with new records and as a result we are not able to warranty for small defects. We guarantee that your record will play the music it is intended to play, and that your cover is free of major bends or dents, but we cannot guarantee for minor flaws via mail. If you are extremely particular, come visit us and shop in person so you can see what you're getting before the expense of shipping is incurred. 

Returns for used items 

Wax Trax grades its used vinyl according to the Goldmine Standard (, and its CDs according to Discogs’ expanded version of the Goldmine Standard ( Disputes of our grading of used items will be handled on a case by case basis. Returns will generally be accepted for exchange only, provided the item is returned in the condition it was sent in. Wax Trax does not cover shipping costs for returns or refund shipping costs. Wax Trax is very intent on grading used items correctly, and offering items at a fair price.
