Strut Records dug into archives across Africa instead of reaching for the usual Western Christmas catalog, and pulled together Krismasi, holiday recordings cut between 1968 and 1982 by artists like Dorothy Masuka and the Les Kilimambogo Brothers Band. The London label, founded in 1999 and built on African, Caribbean, and Latin reissues alongside new records from Tony Allen and Ebo Taylor, presses it here on colored vinyl. It swaps sleigh bells for something that actually moves.
