Three Dog Night rotated Danny Hutton, Chuck Negron, and Cory Wells through lead vocals on Harmony, which went gold and hit No. 8 behind three singles: "An Old Fashioned Love Song" at No. 4, a cover of Hoyt Axton's "Never Been to Spain" at No. 5, and "The Family of Man" at No. 12. Robert Christgau called it the band's best album, crediting Richard Podolor's production and the group's knack for turning songs by writers like Joni Mitchell and Stevie Wonder into hits nobody else could place. It first surfaced on Dunhill in 1971.
