The Best of the... LP

Three guitarists who'd each go on to define rock guitar in their own right, Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, and Jimmy Page, all passed through the Yardbirds, and this Charly compilation catches the band across that stretch. It opens on "For Your Love," their breakthrough UK and US hit, and runs from blues covers like "Good Morning Little Schoolgirl" to the fuzzed out reach of "Shapes of Things" and "Heart Full of Soul." Charly has kept these reissues in print for decades as part of its blues and British Invasion catalog, which is reason enough to trust the tracklist.
