Hard Life LP

The Tubs are a Cardiff band Owen Williams and George Nicholls put together in 2018 once they'd stepped out of the noise-pop group Joanna Gruesome, and this is album number three, their first for Merge after two records, Dead Meat and Cotton Crown, on Trouble in Mind. Williams writes and sings, and he's said the record runs on two competing voices, like a guy arguing with his own diary: one wallowing in "romantic abjection," the other rolling its eyes at him for it.
