Chrissie Hynde built Get Close the way you'd rebuild a house after a fire, with half the original crew already gone, Pete Farndon and James Honeyman-Scott both dead, and she fired drummer Martin Chambers somewhere in the middle of it. Somehow the 1986 record still cracked the US and UK top 30 and went gold both places, powered by "Don't Get Me Wrong" and "My Baby," both mainstream rock chart toppers. This white pressing marks its 40th anniversary.
