Sessions dragged from 1986 to 1989 before Fontana pushed this album to number one in the UK and number eight in the US. Phil Collins pounds drums as a guest, Pino Palladino locks down bass, and Oleta Adams takes lead vocals on two tracks, while Roland Orzabal and Curt Smith self-produced with engineer Dave Bascombe. Single "Sowing the Seeds of Love" cracked the US top three and UK top five, and the long haul split the duo apart once the tour ended.
