Cuttin' Grass Vol. 2: Cowboys Arms Sessions LP

On Cuttin' Grass Vol. 2: Cowboy Arms Sessions, Sturgill Simpson runs songs from across his catalog, including cuts off A Sailor's Guide to Earth and Oh Sarah, first cut with his old band Sunday Valley, through a bluegrass filter until they sound like they were built that way from the start. The set closes on Hobo Cartoon, which Simpson says he co-wrote with Merle Haggard. Stuart Duncan, Sierra Hull, Tim O'Brien, Mike Bub, and Scott Vestal back him on a project that grew out of a charity fundraising challenge tied to Volume 1.
