Spider-Man 60th Anniv. (Freddie McCoy) LP

Freddie McCoy's second LP for Prestige, cut in 1965 at Rudy Van Gelder's studio with pianist Charles L. Wilson, bassist Steve Davis and drummer Rudy Lawless, mixes originals like the title track and "Hav' Mercy" with standards such as "The Girl from Ipanema" and "Yesterdays." This all-analog pressing keeps the quartet's tight, groove-heavy sound intact, worth it for straight soul-jazz vibraphone.
