Casas LP

After months in Los Angeles, Rubel came back with a bomb disguised as a sophomore album: Casas, the follow-up to his 2015 debut Pearl, earned a Latin Grammy nomination while blurring MPB into hip-hop-built production, strings and horns filling the cracks. He's named Frank Ocean, Kendrick Lamar and Tyler, the Creator as reference points, and brought two real collaborators into the booth: Emicida on "Mantra" and Rincon Sapiência on "Chiste." Mr Bongo pressed it, and it's the first Rubel record to land on vinyl and CD outside Brazil and Japan.
