Unadulterated LP

Piper Ferrari didn't grow up on Las Vegas's casino strip version of the city; she came up through its under-the-radar hardcore scene, and Unadulterated, Roman Candle's twelve-track debut, plays like she's still settling a score from there. The songs circle obsession, retribution and internal conflict, and Ferrari has said flatly that she didn't want any of it open to interpretation, which is its own kind of nerve: most screamo bands hide behind noise, this one names names. Trauma turned into twelve tracks with the subtlety switched off, on purpose.
