The Silent Kind LP

The Silent Kind is budget-bin repackaging, nine already-recorded Porter Wagoner tracks, including "Uncle Pen" and "The Cold Hard Facts of Life," pressed onto RCA's Camden imprint. Camden was the label's discount subsidiary, a way to keep catalog artists like Wagoner sitting in record bins between real studio albums through the 1960s and '70s. By the time these sides got repackaged, Wagoner was already a Grand Ole Opry mainstay and, soon after, Dolly Parton's duet partner and the man who handed her a national stage.
