Idlewild came out in 2006 tied to the Big Boi and André 3000 film of the same name, though Big Boi insisted it was an Outkast album first and a movie tie-in a distant second, and the record backs him up. Produced with Organized Noize and guests including Sleepy Brown, Lil Wayne, Snoop Dogg and Janelle Monáe, it debuted at number two on the Billboard 200, topped the R&B/Hip-Hop and Rap charts, went platinum, and pulled off the odd trick of making jazz, blues and swing sound like hip-hop's natural relatives.
