At Angelic Studios, the room where this Southend five-piece tracked its debut, Nothing But Thieves made Stray Dogs, giving themselves five months to write together instead of composing on the road. It's the band's fifth album, arriving after Dead Club City, the record that gave them their first UK number one in 2023, and earlier records Moral Panic, Broken Machine and the self-titled debut. Lead single "Evolution" rides soaring vocals over hooky guitar, and the band has framed the whole record around imperfection and staying honest.
