Napalm Death - Scum LP

Scum came out in 1987 on Earache as Napalm Death's debut, and the two sides were recorded eight months apart with almost entirely different bands, drummer Mick Harris the only player on both. Side one still carries the anarcho-punk blast the group started with; side two turns faster and heavier once singer Lee Dorrian and guitarist Bill Steer show up, pointing toward where death metal was headed. A BBC Peel Session pushed sales enough to land all 28 tracks, clocking in near 33 minutes, on the UK Indie Chart.
