Experiment Zero pairs Man or Astro-Man?'s surf-punk attack with synthesizers and sampled sound effects, tracked with Steve Albini in three days, pushing the band's sci-fi sound past straight surf rock, on Touch and Go Records. The New York Times compared its "manic punk velocity" and "sine-wave oscillator noises" to little else made at the time.
