2 CD

Mac DeMarco recorded 2, his real full-length debut, mostly solo in his Mile End apartment in Montreal after Captured Tracks put up the money following his Rock and Roll Nightclub EP. Pitchfork handed it an 8.2 and a Best New Music tag, and the thing eventually went Gold, which is a strange ceiling for a record this homemade. Slightly warped guitar tones, deadpan melodies, recorded in an apartment: that's the whole DeMarco career plan, laid out track by track before he even had a career.
