Jhené Aiko stepped away for school and family, then signed to No I.D.'s Artium imprint through Def Jam in 2011 and picked the mic back up like she'd never put it down. Her real arrival came in 2013, a guest verse on Big Sean's 'Beware' that gave her a first top forty hit. Souled Out, Trip, and Chilombo followed, landing at No. 3, No. 5, and No. 2 on the Billboard 200. Westside Whimsy, on ArtClub and Def Jam, keeps her running on that same hazy, inward-looking R&B.
