Ian Noe's songs about Appalachian poverty, addiction and stuck small towns have earned him the inevitable John Prine comparisons, the kind that follow you until you actually get to tour with the guy in Europe, as Noe did. His 2019 debut Between the Country came through producer Dave Cobb, and 2022's River Fools & Mountain Saints followed on Thirty Tigers; Canyon Falls Trailer Band moves him to Lock13 Records for a sixteen-track set that keeps faith with the same plainspoken, character-driven storytelling that has carried his catalog so far.
