Heart Like A Levee LP

M.C. Taylor records as Hiss Golden Messenger out of Durham, North Carolina, working a seam between folk, soul and Americana. Heart Like A Levee followed 2014's Lateness of Dancers on Merge Records, self-produced by Taylor and Bradley Cook with a circle of North Carolina players filling out the room. Taylor wrote the songs through what he called "a time of transition and doubt," chasing a bittersweet balance between minor and major key feeling, and the record keeps circling back to leaving, returning, trust and life spent on the road.
