Wind LP

Gigi Masin pressed 'Wind' himself back in 1986 and played it at a handful of small shows instead of shopping it to a label, which tells you something about how little he cared whether anyone outside the room was listening. The record itself is just minimal piano and loose, classically-leaning balearic new age, closer to someone noodling alone in an empty room than to anything built for a dance floor, and that quiet accident is exactly why ambient and balearic listeners kept passing it around for decades. Numero Group's fortieth-anniversary pressing is a full remaster and restoration, dressed in a tip-on jacket that mirrors the original cover in reflective silver foil.
