Funk Factory LP

Funk Factory's self-titled 1975 album paired Polish jazz violinist and saxophonist Michal Urbaniak and vocalist Urszula Dudziak with American session heavies Steve Gadd and John Abercrombie, cut for ATCO as something like a rebuttal to anyone who doubted Eastern European musicians could play funk straight. The Beastie Boys needed one more reason: they sampled "Rien Ne Va Plus" on Paul's Boutique's "Car Thief," and the original's rarity turned it into a crate-digger's grail. This Record Store Day exclusive puts it back on vinyl, no excuses.
