The Open Door 2LP

Ivory vinyl marks this 20th anniversary edition of The Open Door, the record Evanescence made in 2006 after Fallen and after founding guitarist Ben Moody left the band. It debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 and went multi platinum, with “Sweet Sacrifice” picking up a Grammy nomination. Guitarist Terry Balsamo suffered a stroke partway through the sessions and kept working on the album through his recovery, and producer Dave Fortman helped push the sound into heavier, more orchestral territory.
