Emapea built his name the long way, popping up on Cold Busted compilations and Mark Farina's Mushroom Jazz 8 before his full length debut, Seeds, Roots & Fruits, came out on that same label. Zoning Out Volume 1 keeps that same shape: chiming keys, a few subtle saxophone touches, and drums pulled from dusty jazz samples, the head nodding boom bap Cold Busted has built its name on.
