Gris Gris LP

Dr. John's "Gris Gris" LP takes a wild plunge into the murky depths of the bayou, combining blues with unexpected psychedelic elements, and it all comes on vibrant green vinyl. Released in 1968, this debut displays a disjointed yet fascinating meld of New Orleans' musical roots and the chaotic backdrop of its time, as if it were recorded in a fog rather than a studio. The album offers a disorienting spell that feels both of its era and completely otherworldly.
