Half of Mac DeMarco's second album got made at Jizz Jazz Studios in Montreal, the other half in his own apartment, in 2012 on Captured Tracks. Pitchfork slapped a Best New Music tag on it, later folded it into their best-of-the-decade lists, and it picked up a 2013 Polaris Music Prize longlisting before eventually going Gold in the U.S. 'Ode to Viceroy' and the falsetto turn on 'Still Together' are still the songs people reach for first.
