This Sun Records pressing carries Texas Moon, a record cut in 1973 and left on the shelf for four years before Plantation Records boss Shelby Singleton finally issued it in 1977 to catch the outlaw country wave. The set leans on covers, pulling from Kris Kristofferson, Mickey Newbury, Guy Clark, Billy Joe Shaver, and Johnny Cash, with Jackson Browne's 'These Days' the one critics kept pointing to.
