Papa's Boat LP

Papa's Boat is a tribute record from the Oregon-raised, Brooklyn-based brother duo Dana and Alden, named for their late grandfather, an avid sailor and traveler they say inspired the album, the tide audible under the arrangements. Dana plays saxophone and Alden drums; the pair recorded across London, New York, and Brazil with Malcolm Catto engineering, bringing in Brazilian musician Marcos Valle as a guest. The sound moves between jazz, samba, and bossa nova. Concord Jazz releases it August 14, 2026 on blue vinyl.
