Masks is Chat Pile's first release for Sub Pop, backed with a cover of Nirvana's Sifting, a pointed nod to the label's Seattle grunge roots. The Oklahoma City four-piece, who record under the names Raygun Busch, Luther Manhole, Stin and Cap'n Ron, built their reputation through the Flenser with God's Country and Cool World. It's short, but the abrasive low end that's drawn comparisons to Big Black, Godflesh and the Jesus Lizard is fully intact.
