Worm Food is Cavetown's thirteen-song major-label record for Sire, built on soft, layered melodies that move like water finding the lowest point rather than reaching for a hook. Robin Skinner has said a track like '1994' is about guilt that's imagined and out of proportion, not guilt earned by anything real, and learning to spot the difference. One reviewer called the whole thing a kind of psychedelic lullaby set. A few guest spots thread through it, but the bedroom-pop fingerprint never gets buried.
