Comatose hits like a car alarm that won't shut off, hardcore blitz and punk sneer running the same circuit until neither one wins. Candy Apple built toward this after Sweet Dreams of Violence and the World for Sale EP, drawing comparisons to GEL and Punitive Damage along the way. Released on Convulse Records, the album pairs with Total Control, a grindhouse-and-slasher short film directed by Cain Cox with the band's own hand in its design, both circling questions of choice, consequence, and self-control.
