Normal Heights is a Briston Maroney EP recorded years before it saw release, cut just three days after the Knoxville singer-songwriter left his first stint in rehab. Finishing it cost him his 4Runner and his own place, since he had to move back in with his mother, and the four songs now read as a look backward at the rawer, more vulnerable writing that came before his folk-leaning breakthrough album Sunflower.
