This one gathers Welsh singer Bonnie Tyler's two biggest songs and builds outward from there. "Total Eclipse of the Heart," written and produced by Jim Steinman, spent four weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1983 and topped the UK chart too. "Holding Out for a Hero," written for the Footloose soundtrack, had a quieter US run before a 1985 UK re-release pushed it to No. 2. Tyler's husky, full-throated voice carries both songs and the rock-leaning pop tracks gathered around them.
