Buddha LP

Buddha started as a $1,000 cassette session at Doubletime Studios in Santee, California, sold hand to hand on consignment through San Diego record stores a full year before Cheshire Cat gave blink-182 an official debut. Mark Hoppus himself has waffled on whether it counts as a real album ("some count Buddha, some not"), but Kung Fu Records' 1998 reissue pushed it past 300,000 copies sold.
