Thickfreakness CD

Basement blues turned up to eleven, the whole room stinking of sweat, beer, and fried amp tubes. Thickfreakness is Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney dragging Delta ghosts through Akron concrete, two-man minimalism pounding like a rust-belt heartbeat. Every riff sounds half-drunk but deadly serious, the groove as raw and blunt as Junior Kimbrough after midnight. Lo-fi? Sure. But it hits like the truth before it got processed and polished. - Duane
