Generation X's single 'Your Generation' was released in Sept. 1977. That got them on BBC TV's Top of The Pops, and then came 'Wild Youth' and 'Ready Steady Go'. All of which are in this box set based around their self-titled debut album from 1978.
Along with Bikini Kill, Bratmobile spearheaded the riot grrrl revolution of the early 1990s, battling the long-standing dominance of men within the punk rock community to help empower a new generation of female musicians and fans.
While previous editions have focused on the early days of punk in Los Angeles, Cleveland, Akron, France, and proto-punk, this new edition focuses on mainly do-it-yourself, or self-released 45s, all made in the UK in the early days of punk.
Once called "their defining document" by Pitchfork it includes Bikini Kill's legendary collaboration with JOAN JETT on the New Radio (1993) single as well as the long out of print Anti Pleasure Dissertation (1995) and I Like F***ing (1995) singles.
