10:20 is a glimpse into the working practice of the band and may perhaps give clues as to why Wire has retained such a singular identity through the years.
Released as an illegal bootleg back in the early 1980s, Not About To Die were recordings made for EMI as demos for the 1978 and 1979 albums Chairs Missing and 154. Now Wire has chosen to release the album on their own Pinkflag imprint.
Combining the run of early singles with more obscure later period tracks underlines the strength and depth that Wire had. Previously released as 7" box set, this Record Store Day 2025 release is the first time for most tracks on LP.
While most bands reserve a self-titled album for their debut, the Dirty Heads, held off for an album deserving of the moniker. The band found one in their fifth studio release, a total culmination of their signature sound.
Archetypes Collide delivers massive hooks, soaked in atmosphere, with creative energy and catchiness on their self-titled debut LP on Fearless Records. Unapologetic choruses and bang-your-head riffs collide.
