Record Store Day 2026 is Saturday, April 18!

Record Store Day 2026 is Saturday April 18, and Wax Trax now has THREE (3) participating locations: Our original location in Capitol Hill, our store on South Broadway, and our newest location on 32nd Avenue on the Northside! Check out the Record Store Day 2026 list here.

Each of our three locations will have plenty of the exclusive RSD releases, local bands, excellent vinyl DJs, free breakfast for the line, turntable and concert ticket giveaways, highly anticipated vinyl releases, and a Wax Trax x Cerebral Brewing “First Pressing” beer release.

All three stores will open at 8am!

Wax Trax Records (638 E 13th Ave) - Doors at 8AM

Several of our most experienced staff conspire to bring you everything that's worth getting, including a great deal of the more obscure but great stuff. Then we add in all of your comments in our email survey and our Instagram and Facebook posts asking for input. The result is over 300 Record Store Day titles, many of them in HUGE quantities! We’ll also have our underground-famous RSD used drop.

  • Cerebral Brewing staff will be pouring pints and selling the Wax Trax collab beer, First Pressing, on the Cap Hill “patio” from 10AM to 5PM
  • Free donut bites and coffee for the line courtesy of Jelly Café at 7AM
  • Giveaways: Victrola Stream Onyx Turntable ($800 value) & dozens of concert tickets
  • The Used shop, just a couple doors down from the 13th and Washington corner, will feature an exclusive and premium used vinyl drop
  • Free live music: The Blucifer Fest Preview, a showcase of what’s to come in the inaugural all-local Blucifer’s First Rodeo, will feature live music starting at 12PM with Ritmo Cascabel, followed by Fruta Brutal at 1PM, and ends with a bang with Team Nonexistent at 2PM
    • Ritmo Cascabel is a bloody ripper cumbiadelica band hailing from Denver. These legends have created a wicked blend of cumbia, western, and rock and roll. They formed in early 2020 and have been smashing it ever since.
    • Fruta Brutal - Born in Ecuador and raised in the United States, Martín Better Longo channels the tension and beauty of a mixed cultural identity through his project, Fruta Brutal. A dynamic force within Rock Alternativo and Indie Psych Pop, Fruta Brutal's music serves as a profound exploration that, with luck, can reach people across borders.
    • Team Nonexistent is a queer melodic punk band based out of Denver, Colorado. Sophia LaBelle-Plott, Magic Mo, Billie Christ, and Jesse Newman perform their own brand of pissed-off angst through distorted guitars, splashy drums, and melody-driven lyrics. The band started in Pensacola, FL as a solo acoustic project by frontman Sophia in 2017; the group of best friends fully came together in 2022 to create the signature style and sound they're known for.

THE RULES, etc.:

  • It’s first come, first served - please be good to each other in the line!
  • No store in the country is ever 100% sure about receiving stuff, but most likely we'll have it and if it's popular we'll have a ton of it. (Yes, we went big on the the Olivia Dean, the Masayoshi Takanaka, the Ween, the Labi Siffre, the Charli XCX, the Paramore, the Taylor Swift, the Ethel Cain, the Billy Strings, the Pink Floyd and much more!)
  • All normal Record Store Day rules still apply, no holds, only 1 of the same title.
  • Record Store Day items that don't sell in the shop are and/or will start appearing online here on Sunday.
  • To see what's available, seek out the full Record Store Day list here.
  • The store is all very very well stocked and we always make a big drop at the used store on the same day.

You’re going to have a pretty damn good chance of finding what you’re after (and what you didn't know you were after) and hear some great music here at Wax Trax, as always

Thanks and see you soon!
