Before Zach Bryan was selling out stadiums he was recording Elisabeth straight to a laptop in a horse barn, which is either the most or least rock and roll studio setup imaginable depending on how you look at it. His then-fiancee Rose Madden and a few close friends helped out, right on the heels of 2019's DeAnn, a debut he made in tribute to his late mother. The rough edges never got sanded off, and that's basically become his whole origin story on the way to becoming one of country and Americana's biggest live draws.
