The Good, The Bad, The Ugly LP

The Good, the Bad, the Ugly lifts its title and cover concept from Sergio Leone and spends the whole record living up to the premise, Willie Colón and Marty Sheller stacking a dense, brassy horn section around Lew Soloff and Yomo Toro's cuatro. Héctor Lavoe, Rubén Blades, and Colón share the vocal duties, Blades making his first appearance on a Colón album and Colón not far from losing Lavoe to his own solo run. One of Fania's defining salsa records, which is saying something.
