Cosa Nuestra CD

A 1969 Fania session brought trombonist Willie Colón and vocalist Héctor Lavoe together for Cosa Nuestra, produced by Jerry Masucci and directed by Johnny Pacheco, with conguero Milton Cardona, timbalero Little Louie Romero, bassist Santi González, and pianist José Torres rounding out the band. It was the first gold record for the Colón and Lavoe partnership, the start of a run that added three more gold certifications by 1973 and helped push salsa's commercial rise in New York. Rolling Stone named it one of the 50 greatest salsa albums ever made in 2024.
