American Weekend LP

Alone in her family's home in Alabama, with about a week to work, Katie Crutchfield recorded American Weekend, her 2012 debut as Waxahatchee, not long after her punk duo with twin sister Allison, P.S. Eliot, called it quits. Don Giovanni put the record out, Dusted named it one of that year's best, and NPR picked "Be Good" for its own year-end list. The whole thing is just Crutchfield, a guitar, and nowhere to hide, which turned out to be the sound she'd keep chasing.
