Boogie Nights Soundtrack (1997) LP

Boogie Nights is Paul Thomas Anderson's 1997 film about the San Fernando Valley porn business of the late 1970s and early 80s, and its Capitol Records soundtrack runs on that same period's funk, soul, and disco, pulling in Marvin Gaye, the Commodores, the Emotions, and the Beach Boys. The disc opens on a spoken bit from stars John C. Reilly and Mark Wahlberg and closes on Michael Penn and Patrick Warren's original theme, "The Big Top."
