A State of Trance Classics Vol. 2 12"

This is another entry in Armada's State of Trance Classics vinyl series, reissuing late-'90s trance for anyone who missed it the first time on wax. Chicane's "Saltwater," with Clannad's Moya Brennan on vocals, was one of the genre's first real crossover hits, built on a sampled vocal line over a melodic, Balearic-leaning groove. Veracocha's "Carte Blanche" and Insigma's "Open Our Eyes" fill out the rest, both foundational to trance's commercial breakout in the late 1990s, and all three tracks hold up better than most of that era's dance music.
