Underground LP

The Third World-Underground spent decades as a rumor outside Japan: a 1972 live set from Copenhagen's Jazz-House Montmartre, with Dollar Brand (Abdullah Ibrahim) on piano, Don Cherry on trumpet, and Carlos Ward on saxophone, pressed only on Trio Records two years after the fact. Wewantsounds finally gives it a life outside Japan, reproduction OBI strip included, and the twist is that a session this steeped in South African rhythm took over fifty years to reach anyone else. Ibrahim, one of South Africa's defining jazz voices, died in 2026 at 91.
