High Time - Thee 30th 2LP

Thee Michelle Gun Elephant barely paused for breath in the mid '90s, following their debut Cult Grass Stars with High Time the same year, then 1997's Chicken Zombies right behind it. Across twelve tracks the Japanese quartet's blues-fed garage rock sprints through "Brand New Stone" before stretching out for the nearly seven-and-a-half-minute closer, "Baby Please Go Home (Wave '33)." This anniversary pressing catches a band moving too fast to look back.
